Basic Cheese Sauce
This is the perfect sauce to use when you want something quick and easy. It’s also great for those who are looking for a tasty topping for pasta, potatoes or vegetables. You can even use it as a base for other recipes like soups or casseroles!
Baked Spinach Artichoke Dip Cheese Sauce
This is a great party appetizer and can be made ahead of time. It’s also delicious on pasta!
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt (I prefer sour cream)
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (I use olive oil mayo because I think it adds some extra flavor)
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic (or garlic powder)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for topping if desired
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it foams up then add in flour and whisk together until thickened into a roux (4-5 minutes). Stir in milk slowly while constantly stirring with a whisk; this will prevent any lumps from forming. Once all of the milk has been added turn down heat to low-medium so that it doesn’t boil over but still simmers away nicely (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat once thickened enough so that when you dip your spoon into it no liquid pools around its edges–if this happens just add more flour until thickened sufficiently again
Cheesy Bacon and Green Onion Pasta
Ingredients:
- 4 cups uncooked macaroni or pasta of your choice
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, or more if desired
- 6 to 8 slices bacon (about 1 pound) cut into bite-sized pieces
How to Make It:
- Cook the macaroni according to package directions and drain well. Set aside in a large bowl with a lid so that it will stay warm while you prepare other ingredients for this recipe! If using pre-cooked sausage links and frozen broccoli florets (as shown), thaw them out by placing them in cold water for 15 minutes before cooking them on low heat in an open pan with just enough olive oil to coat each side lightly; stir occasionally until fully heated through (about 5 minutes). Add cooked sausage links & broccoli florets along with butter & green onions after draining pasta so they don’t get too soggy when added later.”
